水冷螺桿式冷水機組也是冷水機組的一種，由于它的主要構(gòu)成部件使用了螺桿式壓縮機，所以名稱可稱為水冷螺桿式冷水機組。它的冷凍出水溫度范圍為3℃~20℃，可廣泛應(yīng)用于塑膠，電鍍，電子，化工，制藥，印刷，食品加工等各種工業(yè)冷凍制程需使用冷凍水的領(lǐng)域，或大型商場，酒店，工廠，醫(yī)院等各種中央空調(diào)工程中需使用冷凍水集中供冷的領(lǐng)域。

從機組出來的冷凍水，進入室內(nèi)的風機盤管、變風量空氣調(diào)節(jié)機等末端裝置，在室內(nèi)與對流空氣發(fā)生熱交換，在此過程中，水由于吸收室內(nèi)空氣的熱量（向室內(nèi)空氣散熱）而溫度上升，而室內(nèi)空氣經(jīng)過室內(nèi)換熱器后溫度下降，在風機的帶動下，送入室內(nèi)，從而降低室內(nèi)的空氣溫度，而溫度上升后的冷凍水在水泵的作用下重新進入機組，如此循環(huán)，從而達到連續(xù)制冷的目的。
